For many, the best thing to do is undoubtedly to go to the beach. However, among all the options there are some that are quieter than others. In the following lines we invite you to get to know one of those that will allow you to spend more relaxed moments, we are referring to visiting some of the coves of Benidorm.
What are the coves of Benidorm?
Visiting the coves of Benidorm will allow you to enjoy a different kind of day at the beach and certainly more peaceful than if you go to other areas. In addition, many of them have incredible views and also give you the opportunity to do different activities. These are the ones you can visit:
- Cala del Tío Ximo. It is located to the north of Benidorm and is one of the most natural. The cove is both rocky and sandy and is a perfect location for diving and other water sports. It is surrounded by nature and is usually quite
- Almadraba Cove. If you go to Cala del Tío Ximo, you can also go to Cala la Almadraba, as it is right next to it and also at the foot of the Sierra Helada. It is a natural spot, which has sand, but also rocks and stones. It is true that it is a quiet place, but it has a hammock area where you can sunbathe or rest for a while. Its waters are calm and are also perfect for diving.
- Mas Pas cove. Between Playa de Levante and Playa de Poniente you will find the Mas Pas cove. Unlike the others, it has fine sand and no rocks. You will love its views, as it is located below the cliff of Benidorm Castle. It is true that in this case the cove is in the centre of the town, but it is also true that it is very quiet. However, this doesn’t mean that you won’t find different services, such as showers for your feet, hammocks or security. Even in summer there are musical performances in the area, creating an incredible atmosphere.
- Mascarat Cove. It is true that it is not exactly a cove in Benidorm, as it is located in the town of Altea, but you can get there in just a few minutes. It is one of the most beautiful in the area and is located inside the Sierra Helada Natural Park. It is, however, a beach of fine pebbles. On the other hand, you can enjoy all the services in the cove to be able to spend the whole day, beach bar, car park or lifeguard. It is also an ideal location for diving. At the end of the day you can take the opportunity to stroll around Altea and discover all its nooks and crannies.
- Metge Cove. This cove is located in Albir. It is practically a wild beach in the best sense of the word. It is right at the entrance to the Sierra Helada Natural Park and is located below its cliffs. Its seabed is incredible and it is also ideal for water sports, such as scuba diving.
- Finestrat Cove. This cove is not located in Benidorm either, but in the nearby town of Finestrat, which in fact is right next to it, at the end of the Poniente Beach. You can reach it easily and you’ll be surprised to find it so quiet on a beach so close to the town centre. Parking is easy, as there is a car park. There are also restaurants and even shops in the area. In summer, there is a street market at sunset.
- Bol Nou. Continuing in the area, but also outside Benidorm, we find this cove in the neighbouring town of Villajoyosa. If you visit it, you will discover a beach of sand and gravel with a cliff on each side, making it a unique and very special place. Of course, the fact that it is a quiet place does not mean that it does not have some basic services such as a lifeguard or a place to have a drink.
- Les Bassetes cove. In this case, you will have to travel a little further, but not too far, as the cove is located in Calpe. It is perfect for a quiet day, but also for a day of fishing or snorkelling. Its transparent waters and clear sandy beach form a perfect environment to enjoy without the crowds of other beaches.
